My passion for speech-language pathology grew during my internship at West Texas Speech and Myofunctional Therapy, where I shadowed an SLP, assisted in therapy sessions, and observed intervention strategies. As a student studying Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at UNT, I’ve developed a strong foundation in communication disorders and gained valuable insight into effective intervention methods.

My experience with special needs children...

I've had the opportunity to work closely with special needs children, both at a functional clinic and as a Patient Pal volunteer. My time at the clinic was incredibly rewarding, shadowing and helping an SLP to help children with various challenges to achieve their full potential. Volunteering as a Patient Pal, I supported children during medical visits, making them feel more comfortable and less anxious. These experiences have taught me a lot about patience, empathy, and the power of small moments of connection.
