Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered in a church's VBS program for 3 years (each program is a week long). We moreso interacted with children, building/maintaining relationships with the kids, and guided them to the activities the church laid out for them while also making sure they were being safe during each activity, paying attention during storytime, etc. We also aimed to diffuse arguments between kids (as I have had to deal with once) if ever needed.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
While nannying for the 10 year old, she would enjoy playing a video game and sometimes make-believe type games. I just followed the leads and found myself enjoying what it was she was doing. It was also fun trying to cook with her.
Otherwise, I would think I'd enjoy anything. Quiet moments like crafts and other arts would be fun, watching TV shows or movies that they enjoy, or even anything as simple but active as kicking or throwing a ball around.

I do not have experience with looking after special needs children. I would not mind getting experience, but I am not certain how well I would do.
