I have a background in working in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant as well as a Certified Medical Assistant. I have had to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a toddler, and I started babysitting at the age of 9.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring, painting, puzzles, board games, a lot of it depends on the age group of the children, such as physical and mental challenges. Under the age of one, I love to use my imagination and teach them things in a fun way, visual, auditory, sensory.
The most important part about being a nanny...
being able to see them reach their milestones in life. To me, that is one of the most rewarding things to witness when it comes to a child.
My experience with special needs children...
Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to care for any special needs children other than ADHD. But if the opportunity ever arose, I know that I would not let it intimidate me whatsoever. I have history of working in the medical field from many years ago so I have dealt with a lot of situations Which I feel would prepare me if a special needs child came into my care.
