I absolutely love getting down on their level and playing. From playing make believe to cars and trains. I typically let the child(ren) lead me in what they would like to do. If they need help figuring out fun things, I will step in and help them decide. Tag, your it, a friendly game of hide and seek, going on a bear hunt! Or just chilling out reading books.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny and why I love it so much is because I get to see these children grow. I know that I have had a helping hand in their emotional wellbeing. I have helped parents raise these children. We have worked together as a team to support these children the best we can.
My experience with special needs children...
My oldest son has Aspergers, he had early intervention from the age of 2-5. He also had speech, OT and PT, in and out of the home. I Nannied for a family of 7 children. All of whom had some form of special needs from ADHD, CP, autism and more. I’ve worked with a non verbal autistic child for 5 years. Also a child with CP that was non verbal and in a wheelchair and had a feeding tube.

How can I pick just one? Wow…. I would have to say, every time my nanny kids have said, “I love you” to me. I could always genuinely feel it. Those three words never get old.
