A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Ciara and I have been a childcare provider for over 8 years now! I recently moved back to Texas after being a travel nanny for two years with the best family in Utah. I started in childcare by working in a church nursery for my first paid job. I then worked for a family for two summers watching their 4 kids. Finally I found myself in Utah and became the travel nanny for the Barnthouse Family. With the two kiddos we found ourselves in Hawaii, California, Kansas, Florida, and Colorado. The baby I nannied for during that time had many allergies, so I gained experience with allergic reactions and epi pens. Some fun things about me: I love to travel and be outdoors. I’ve been to 8 national parks and plan to go to more! If there is a mountain near I love to rock climb or snowboard.
I am naturally a workaholic and will make my schedule as flexible as a can to your childcare needs.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a church nursery for 5 years.
I was a short term nanny during two summers for 4 children.
I worked for two years as a travel nanny for two kids in Utah.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am super crafty and love coming up fun artsy activities.
I hiked a ton with a baby on my back and would definitely do it again.
Going to a pool is always a blast.
Any form of learning through doing such as a museum is a must.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Knowing that you are responsible for little minds and they hear and see everything you do. Being a good example and making sure you keep the kids safe is the main priority.

I have cared for a baby who was allergic to eggs and milk.

The most important part about being a nanny...

We travelled so much with the last family I nannied for and was able to see the oldest grow up so much. They are now 2 and 5 and feel like my own. I saw every milestone with each of them from walking, talking, to learning about how to tell a joke. The oldest eventually learned how to find baggage claim in every airport we were in at 4 years old. The first time the baby learned how to say my name, my heart melted.
