A little bit about me

I've been working with children since I was 14, teaching at western dupage special recreation association with differently abled kids. I've taught swim since then from ages infant to adult. Beyond that I worked as a chicago public school teacher for two years, then as a private art instructor/therapist/nanny from 2015 to now. The kids are grown up from that family enough to not need me around all the time but happy to give their mother as a reference. I play saxophone, piano and was a graduate/masters at the school of the art institute of chicago with a bfa in fine arts/art ed and a masters in art therapy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Teaching them how to cook, helping with arts and crafts, games and engaging away from a screen. Their imagination flourishes when left to be fueled by their environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Surround yourself with people who make you better, is what I always tell the kids I'm responsible for. I believe the kids do that for me as well. They make me a better person and pull me forward with patience and gratitude.

My experience with special needs children...

Yes with western dupage special recreation association and both of my recent kids I looked after had complex autism and special needs due to that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When the twins I babysat both took up saxophone and I got to watch them grow as little jazz musicians, they played happy birthday to me on my birthday when they were both 8
