While playing with my god-son on a cold day I noticed he was running with his hands in his pockets. I warned him by saying, "You should take your hands out incase you fall. So you can catch yourself." After a short time he tripped and fell as he choose to forgo my advice.
I took him inside and cleaned him up. He was very mature about it and told me he was sorry for not listening. I explained that I wasn't upset with him for not listening. I was concerned about him and after a time he understood that I only give him boundaries to keep him safe and his trust in myself grew a lot that day.
