More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a teacher's assistant at a daycare for kids 1.5-6 years old for a majority of my freshman year of college. I have also been babysitting for family friends, neighbors and colleagues since I was 12 years old for kids of all ages, the oldest being 11 years old and the youngest being 2. I have taken care of kids on a regular basis for different periods of time aswell, I have done just single day babysitting, week long with Overnights and Monday-Friday for the summer. For the last 2.5 years I have also been working at Defy, a trampoline park in Eugene where I work with kids of all ages. I am a registered life guard and have a red cross certificate for CPR and First Aid aswell. I have experience teaching kids to swim, helping with meal times, dealing with minor injuries as well as running/ supervising fun, safe and age appropriate activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking the children out to the playground, teaching them to swim, reading books, painting, drawing, playing and etc. I enjoy seeing what they can come up with and helping to guide them to learn something new and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are plenty important parts of being a Nanny such as keeping the child safe, keeping them entertained, making sure they are learning, sensory learning and so much more. One of the biggest things I think though is teaching them about their feelings. What their feelings mean, how to process their feelings and safe ways to express their feelings. This also extends to their ability to empathize with others.

My experience with special needs children...

One of the children I babysat growing up was a family friends son who had down syndrome who I worked with on plenty of occasions through out the years before they moved in 2023. I grew up around people with disabilities aswell as my mother works in a foster home for adults with disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment I have ever had nannying was a couple months ago, I was watching 2 younger boys, 2 and 5 years old. We were at a park and I was chasing the boys around playing dinosaurs. When I stopped for a breather the boys continued playing chasing eachother around with the biggest smiles on their faces.
