I think the most important part of being a nanny is understanding the impact you are going to have on the child’s life. Especially if you are spending almost everyday with them, they are going to put a lot of trust and love in you and it is important to make them feel respected and heard! It is so important to me to create a positive space for the child where they can feel free to say what’s on their mind and feel listened to.

One of my favorite moments was with one of the 3 year olds I used to nanny. She would randomly get a huge burst of energy when she was super happy and one day she blurted out “I LOVE YOU CORRINA!” I thought it was so sweet, because I could tell I had made an impact on her life and she truly cared for me as much as I cared for her!
