A little bit about me

I am a 42 year old mother of three boys aged 16 14 and 6. I am not at the momentFirst Aid and CPR certified. I have many years of experience working with children, newborn through teenaged. Being a nanny would not just be a job for me, I would love to learn and grow with a child or children and the family. I am polite and well spoken. I have worked on daily activity sheets and with daily activity apps for caregivers and parents. I have taken my child(ren) to a few of the daycare centers I have worked at, so I have a feel for both experiences. I have worked for childcare centers and as an in-home nanny. As an in-home nanny, I haven't and wouldn't mind doing light housework; child's laundry, dishes, cleaning home spaces where the child(ren) frequent and toys. I can also do some meal prep, like meals for the child(ren) such as microwave meals, pastas/macaroni and things easy like that. I would also consider driving to/home from school/daycare or doctors appointments, grocery shopping.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked at several childcare centers, as well as having been a live-out in-home nanny. I have been working in childcare since I was old enough for a job.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts and crafts, music and movement, reading stories and relaxing with my kids. I also like to play outside and at the playground. I like taking walks either with or without a stroller. I enjoy soft play as well as blocks or other manipulatives, puzzles and drawing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The safety and welfare of the child(ren) is the most important part of being a nanny/childcare worker. Making sure that basic needs are being met (food and drink, a home, clean clothing). Also age appropriate learning is important to me for any child I help with. And most importantly LOVE

My experience with special needs children...

I have been nanny/parents helper to a few families of ASD children, or "kids on the spectrum" and done very well getting to know the kids and learning a long the way how to help these kids, and help them to help the self when possible. I adapt my "teaching" style to help different learning styles. I believe screens are not a normal replacement for socialization, but can definitely help bridge where social skills may be lacking. I love a close bond with a/the child/Ren I care for but I do not force any sort of physical "gratitude" like hugs hello or goodbye but also within boundaries, will accept certain things for comfort, reassurance or a hug just because. My youngest son may land somewhere on the spectrum as well so I understand it wholeheartedly and want to help as much as I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, it is really hard to pick just one favorite memory with the child(ren) and families I have worked with. Although one of the things that really stands out for me is when a child is comfortable and loving enough with me, that he/she/they say "I love you, miss Crystal"
