I definitely enjoy playing board games and card games, and going to the playground is always fun. I can admit the swings are my go-to. I also love arts and crafts, especially things like pasta art, water painting, and even paper mache.
For calmer activities, I like reading books together, helping with educational things like math, reading, writing, or spelling, or just relaxing and watching a Disney movie. I enjoy having a mix of active and calm time depending on the child’s mood and energy.

The most important part of being a nanny to me is making sure children feel safe, loved, and comfortable being themselves. I think trust is everything, both with the child and with their family. Knowing that parents feel confident leaving their child in my care matters just as much to me as the time I spend with the kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I have about four years of experience caring for a child on the autism spectrum who was nonverbal. We worked closely on emotional regulation and communication throughout our time together. I was responsible for his medication, meals, and overall daily care from 8am to 4pm, and acted as his primary caregiver during that time.

My favorite nanny moment was seeing a child I worked with become more comfortable expressing himself over time. Watching those small wins turn into everyday progress reminded me how meaningful love and consistency can be, and it’s something that always stuck with me.
