Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I don’t have any paid experience working with children (unless earning a scholarship counts as payment) but I do have experience caring for children through both family responsibilities and my time as a class aide in high school. At home, I regularly help look after my younger siblings and relatives, supporting them with homework, meals, and daily routines. In school, I helped teachers by working with younger students, helping them stay on task, and creating a positive classroom environment. These experiences taught me responsibility, patience, and how to communicate effectively with children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Im pretty nerdy so I really enjoy helping kids learn whether it’s going over homework, practicing reading and math, or even teaching them fun science facts. I like finding simple ways to explain things, kind of turning it into a game so they actually enjoy learning instead of feeling stressed about it.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had experience helping special needs kids as a class aide, where I learned how to be patient and adjust my approach depending on the student. I also feel educated on the subject because I aced a psychology class where we learned how the brain works, and that gave me a better understanding of why some kids learn differently and how to support them.
