Hi!! My name is Danie Bernard, I am 19 years old and I went to Climax High School and maintained a 3.9 GPA while there as well as being involved in basketball, track, choir, FFA, student council, knowledge bowl, and math club. I am currently going to Josef's School of Hair Design to get my cosmetology certificate. I have worked as a CNA for the past 3 years and loved doing it! My aunt recently had her first daughter and I absolutely love spending time with her!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love painting as one of my personal hobbies so I would love to encourage children to be artistic and express themselves in a healthy way :) I also enjoy being active so I would love to play games outside with children to make sure that they are active at some point throughout the day. But, I'm also not opposed to having a movie night and having a calm day for the children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say the most important part about being a nanny is to have a positive impact on the child's life. Being a nanny means that you are going to be spending nearly the same amount of time or more time with the children than the parents are able to. Nanny's need to be a positive role model and they need to be able to teach the children and build a bond with them that goes beyond "just a job". It isn't just a job to the children it is their childhood and how they are going to remember it.

My experience with special needs children...

One of my best friends that I grew up with has a brother who has autism and he is nonverbal. I have been neighbors with this family for years now and I have supervised their son that has autism. I am familiar on how to calm somebody with special needs down safely for both the person with special needs and the caregiver. I also have learned a couple of ways to communicate with people that have special needs that cause them to be non verbal.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was babysitting one family and one of the kids sat down for almost an hour and tried to explain to me why PJ masks was the best show that was ever made :)
