A little bit about me

I am a certified teacher with 7 years of professional experience. Most recently, my professional work includes Teaching in Public/Charter schools- working with students ranging from infants-3rd grade.
Additionally, I have been nannying for families for 10+ years ( part time before/after college, & summer breaks).
With my background in education, I also offer tutoring/teaching services at an additional fee. I am able to tutor Ages from 0- 16yrs ; My qualifications include a BD in ECE ( birth-3rd), Special Edu. & a minor in Linguistics/ESL.
AVAILABILITY:
Due to Hurricane Ian, I am currently unemployed.
I am applying for serving positions in the Fort Myers area- but ideally I would like for a nannying position to be my main source of income, (making serving a supplemental source of income if needed).
In saying this- I am willing to accept a full time nanny position, OR, a part time position which would allow me to also serve on nights/weekends.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am a teacher at heart; so I am very big on schedules, and routines/procedures. I implement education within all aspects of a day-to-day routine when working with children. I have a passion for using play-based learning with young children- this is a learning style that allows young children to learn and grow, as they PLAY, LAUGH, & LOVE! With use of play-based learning- I have seen children develop a true love for learning.

As a nanny, and as a teacher- I take pride in creating bonds with both children & parents. I am a caregiver who values relationships. To- date, I continue to attend sporting events, birthday parties, and family gatherings for any child I have worked with.

My experience with special needs children...

*As a certified teacher, I have worked in the public school system as an inclusion teacher since 2017. Each year I have had 5+ students with IEP/504 plans.
*As a Nanny, I have worked full time with 3 children with special needs; including children with Downs Syndrome, ASD, ADHD, and Behavioral Disorders.
*Before working in Public schools, I was a lead teacher in daycare settings from [phone number hidden]. In this time I worked with a large majority of ESE students.
* My duties as a teacher was to develop and monitor IEP/504 plans, implement daily accommodations, and monitor progress.
*As a nanny, I have implemented daily care/routines, as well as working with students on schoolwork

The most important part about being a nanny...

One summer, I was nannying full-time for a family of 4. In addition to being a caregiver- the family also hired me as a Teacher for their 3 and 5 year old.
Each day was scheduled like a real school day ( including subject work on phonics/vocabulary/writing/math/Social emotional learning & science).
In this time I was able to use my skills as a classroom teacher- to prepare these young children for school, while focusing on getting them EXCITED & PREPARED for the real classroom. With use of play based learning, in combination with skill work in the core subject areas- I was able to TRULY, get these children ready for school!
To this day, I keep in contact with this family & they continue to speak on the preparation their children had going into the school setting, and the impact I had made on their lives & learning going forward. 🥰
