Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking children to the library for story time, doing arts and crafts, building blocks and puzzles. I enjoy going on nature walks and making nature crafts, playing side walk chalk, blowing bubbles, and painting. I enjoy taking kids to the pool or playing in the sprinkler. I love reading books to kids and having them help bake healthy treats. I enjoy taking kids to the trampoline parks to get energy out, and outdoor playgrounds.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me the most important part of being a nanny is ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in my care. This includes protecting them from harm, providing for their basic needs, and fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. Other important qualities are forming a loving and trusting bond between both parents and children.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a child who was 7 years old and nonverbal. I used visual support and encouraged interaction through play. I had to pay close attention to facial expressions, body language and sounds for her cues.
I have also cared for an adult with a traumatic brain injury. I prepared specific meals for him and helped him eat/ relearn to eat. I aided in helping him relearn fine motor skills, and physical therapy. I ensured he took his medicine at specific times of the day.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nannying moment is seeing them achieve a milestone. I have had the opportunity to witness children scoot, crawl and take their first steps. I've heard them say their first words, learn to eat, and learn something new and it is incredibly fulfilling. I love the strong relationship and bond that I share with the children I care for.
