Dana V. - Seeking Work in Summerville

My past childcare experiences have been throughout high school. I had been looking after girls ages 5-10 through a cheer camp at my school that we used to raise money and the children loved me. I love to be involved, play with kids and teach them new things. Then, I started watching over family friends' children while they go on dates. As I approached my senior year I started watching over kids for a few different families. I picked a 8 year old girl up from gymnastics practice, took her home, made her dinner, and waited for her mom to get home almost every Tuesday and Thursday. I also watched over a boy (6) and a girl (4) almost once every week for about 5 hours at a time. I also babysat a 3 year old boy sometimes with little notice at all because his mother is an emergency nurse so I would come whenever she would need me to, make him dinner, and put him to bed. There were several occasions in the families where their friends would come over, and I would end up watching and playing with 4 kids instead of 2.

When I was 14 years old I baby sat two young boys by the ages of 2 and 4. I watched them for at least five hours two and three days a week after school. At the age of 21 I babysat my friend's 10 year old son at least four times a week anywhere from 6 to 10 hours a night.I did this for a little over a year. I also have a friend named Julie who has three children. She has two twin boys that are 7 years old and a 12 year old daughter. We have been friends for three years now and I have watched her children for her on certain occassions she needs a babysitter. It is infrequent, but over the three years I have successfully babysat them several times.

I have worked for five families. I am extremely qualified & I have many references that come with me. I started working with a family that had five children in 1999 & since then i have had four amazing families with one to three children in each home. I am still very close with a few of the families. I love working with children which is why I have continued to nanny for so many years. It's not a job for me...It's my profession!
