To me it's making that connection with the kids. Being able to teach them new things and watch them grow, emotionally, mentally and physically. All of which, cannot be done without gaining the trust of the parents. Becoming a part of a team is what makes this job enjoyable and meaningful.

Was with my last little girl. She wasn't very verbal, but would say my name. One morning she spent time giving me hugs and kisses while saying "Oh Dee!" Then she caressed my face in her hands and gave me the most loving look I've ever seen.
I cared for her for three years. She is my smallest best friend and I still call her often so we can chat about her new preschool and what I'm doing now.
