I was a preschool teacher at a Montessori based school. I am happy to bring preschool to the home, and ensure kiddos are hitting milestones, and learning in a fun play-based, age appropriate way.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love daily outings with the kids, I believe it is important for development, and it keeps the days fun and busy! Local parks, libraries, story-times, indoor playgrounds, zoos, aquariums are all places I have taken my last Nanny child to and we always had a wonderful (and safe!) time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is being a warm, loving, consistent adult in their life. It really does take a village to raise these kids, and being able to get them to where they need to be as well as being a support system for the parents.
My experience with special needs children...
While working at the preschool, we had multiple children with different special needs. Ranging from being on the Autism spectrum, down syndrome, to kids with more physical disabilities that affected their mobility. I am a very empathetic, and flexible person to ensure that every child no matter what special need they may have, they are met with the same warmth and love to help their success.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment would have to be when my last nanny child went from only saying "ma-ma" at 14 months, to learning my name, and eventually expanding their vocabulary. Milestones are huge and I am always so happy to be involved in reaching them.
