I have also organized children’s events and worked as a Spanish teacher, as well as a nanny in both Spanish- and English-speaking homes. The most important part of being a nanny, in my opinion, is building trust — both with the children and with the parents. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and consistently supported. Creating a nurturing and structured environment helps them grow emotionally, socially, and academically.

Equally important is maintaining clear communication with parents, ensuring we work as a team to support the child’s development. Being a nanny is more than supervision; it is about mentorship, guidance, and becoming a steady, positive presence in a child’s life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs, including ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). I understand the importance of structure, patience, consistency, and clear boundaries when supporting children who may struggle with focus, emotional regulation, or authority.

I approach behavioral challenges with empathy and calm leadership, prioritizing positive reinforcement, clear communication, and collaboration with parents to ensure consistency. My goal is always to create a safe and supportive environment where children feel understood while helping them develop emotional regulation, confidence, and appropriate coping skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was during the summer when I went paddle boarding with my former host child to a small island in Connecticut. It was such a special experience watching their confidence grow while trying something adventurous and fun together. Moments like that remind me how meaningful it is to build trust and create lasting memories.

I also love the simple everyday moments, like baking cookies together. Cooking allows children to practice patience, teamwork, and creativity, and it’s always rewarding to enjoy something we made together while sharing laughter and conversation.
