A little bit about me

Hello, I am Desiree Munford. A 27 year old free lance nanny! I graduated from Alabama A&M with a BLS in Human Development and Family Studies and I have recently obtained MSW. Taking off with my passion I begin freelance nannying in 2019. Along with building my own business I have worked in several group homes, preschools, and done on the side in home babysitting. Working with kids has always been my passion . From the experience I’ve gained in multiple schools and day cares I have strengthened many skills that allow me to care for children. I am also a children's book author! I am a very diligent hard worker and would love the opportunity to work with your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked for the Early Childhood Education Center or AAMU’s campus, Heritage Preschool, in home babysitting, and Harris Home For Children. I have continuously volunteered all over the Huntsville and Atlanta (my home city) area.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Motor skill activities are my absolute favorite. Using blocks, colors, and hands on activities to strengthen skills are always fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Maintaining a love for the children is the most important part of becoming a nanny. Making sure that everything the child needs to be successful and more is done while the nanny is there is the ultimate job.

My experience with special needs children...

I previously worked for Ability Plus and most of the clients I was able to help were younger in age (17-24) and they had many different disabilities. I ensured that no one felt they could not do any particular activity because I made sure I made it fun and engaging.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with kids are when their parents come home and they ask me to stay longer because the kids just enjoyed me so much. I usually stay over my scheduled time to enjoy the family for a little more time!
