My name is destiny, I come from a big family, and I grew up caring for all my little cousins and siblings. I have been working as a nanny for the past 5 years and have worked closely with 3 different families long term and for a cleaning company in the city. I love to meet new family and get to know the children and see how fast they learn and grow! I have expierence with infants, and the youngest I’ve worked with is 3 months, additionally I also worked with children who have special needs specifically with the conditions Tourette’s autism and ADHD, but I am always willing to adapt and learn to any other childrens needs. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for a cleaning company that also had nanny/house cleaning services avaIlable that allowed me to gain expierence taking care of kids of all ages. Additionally I do have two younger siblings at home who I help to care for one is a infant and the other is a 9 year old. Additionally I was a middle schooltutor in a achievement-first charterschool for 5th graders in bush-wick /Brooklyn.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing soccer and baseball, and any video games or arts and crafts. Also going out to the park and simply exploring is a great way to build engagement in kids and curiosity

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part I think is empathy becuase these kids are always developing and growing so fast in a way adults often times forget and it can be so difficult for kids to act rationally when they don’t even understand their bodies or emotions

My experience with special needs children...

I have had 2 different families that had children with special needs that included Tourette’s and autism in one young boy and adhd in one young girl as well. Additionally I have an autistic younger cousin that I babysit as well, so I understand the patience and understanding I have to show when communicating with kids

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had one kid named C***** and he was almost two and he was learning new words but he didn’t know how to apply the words so he would see things like a seed or a branch and call it different random names like apple or a horse and honestly it killed me everytime becuase he was really trying his hardest to communicate lol he was such a a sweet boy
