Singing, art, sensory exploration. During my circle times we talk about what day it is, the current weather, and I pick “special” books from the library to read that specifically interest the children. I love getting to take walks, talking to the children about things we see, talking about expectations for when we get back.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Meeting the children on their level, seeing where they stand on certain interests and topics and seeing which ways to appropriately expand on them. If they enjoy seeing construction vehicles driving past, finding books about them, talking to them about what their jobs are, and maybe trying to find a work site to watch from a safe distance. The most important part I feel is making the child feel seen.
