Hi I’m a mom of 4 I raised alone. My kids are now grown, 17-27yrs old which I raised by myself, so I know what’s needed for a child, and more than just the care, in order for the family to run smoothly, which I am happy to help with in any way to make that family feel better when they come home from work. I am cpr/first aid/aed certified, have my child abuse history clearances, my background clearances, RBT Certified to work with children with special needs and have experience with ASD/ADHD/IED/ODD. I have years of extensive experience and excellent references. I have a clean driving record, I don’t mind picking kids up, dropping off, any errands needed, store runs, cleaning, cooking, what ever is needed to help out! I’m a non smoker, vaccinated, have my own transportation, and am very active and love getting outdoors keeping active, and I’m a Christian and believe God comes first.

Indoor crafts, children games like ring a round a Rosie, head shoulders knees and toes, singing, movies, whatever they like doing , outdoors for walks, lawn games, etc

The most important part about being a nanny...

That these little lives are entrusted to me to provide care while the parents are working, and to know I’m doing the best i can, and they are at peace knowing I am there able to make a difference in their lives, and the bond that is formed, and when I leave at end of day, to know I made a difference. I don’t know, it’s just that my heart is over come with joy and watching them grow, knowing that I helped to influence some of that. It’s such a good feeling to know I’m appreciated and to see their faces light up when I walk thru the door the next time. I love that I am depended on when the parents are not able to be there. I get to be on the other end of it from when I was the parent who had to go off to work and leave my children. I desired that so much, and the anxiety I felt the entire time. Thats why it is so important to me today to be that person for the parents. I know how it feels. I didn’t have that option. I can give that option today to other families. I love that!

My experience with special needs children...

I currently have a 4 year old child who is on the autism spectrum and just needs special attention when he acts up in certain ways and you need to know how to distract his thinking so he doesn’t get upset as much and deter him from throwing objects or hitting. You can tell when he is getting ready to have an episode and he just needs special attention or distraction from whatever is about to cause him to be upset. After getting to know him, and his mannerisms, I know what is about to happen before it happens and can most times soothe his temper so he is not in a total panic or upset. He’s such a sweet little boy; he just behaves a little different at times and you just have to know how to compensate for it and how to keep him from hurting his siblings.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments with the family I currently care for 2 days a week, (most weeks) is when the baby wants to go to sleep, and she so quickly got attached to me, that I am the only one who can get her to go to sleep (verses her grandmothers who also watch her other days of the week I am not there ) and she is such a pleasant natured baby, and when she becomes sleepy, she loves me to take her and gently rock her (only takes a few minutes) and she falls asleep on my shoulder while I’m holding her. My other favorite moment with that same family was when the little 2 year old, who was extremely attached to her mother and wouldn’t come to me, one day came and started playing with me, and ever since that day, she is glued to me and the moment when she said to me in her little 2 year old voice “I love you Dina!”….my heart melted! I truly love my job and feel such fufillment from it, even though it can be challenging and tiring by days end, I love that I make a difference to a child!
