Most of the children I know enjoy being outside. I try to take my clients out either to a park, or even a walk every day. Indoor activities I like to do is coloring, reading, listening to music and singing and cooking.

Children are like sponges, and are so impressionable. Being a nanny brings out the best in me because I know they are learning from my words, actions and reactions. I try to create a positive outlook each day and be respectful to others and our environment.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience as a Direct Support Professional involved teaching life skills and assisting them with daily tasks. As their motivator, I encouraged them and rewarded them accordingly. I would give them prompts to guide them and keep them focused. We used puzzles and flash cards and gave cooking classes. If we were cooking lunch, we would assign them with different jobs in the kitchen, and everyone helped setting the table. We also went on shopping trips to enforce social norms and walks for exercise.
