A little bit about me

My name is Donny Holm. I am a recent graduate of UIUC, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I have been working with children in some capacity for my entire adult career. My first job was as a lifeguard for a small community pool back home in Belleville, IL. There, I supervised loads of local children at a time, enforcing pool rules and keeping everyone safe while still creating a fun and playful environment.

When I got to college, I started working for Campus Recreation as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I always liked working with kids, so I put most of my focus on the swim instructor position. My level of care did not go unnoticed - I was shortly promoted to Head Swim Instructor and eventually worked my way up to be a Learn to Swim Coordinator. In this role, I have found that I am lacking the childcare aspect of the job that I originally loved. Now I find myself branching out into other options to fulfill that part of myself while providing a valuable service to the community.
