More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
While working at Cadence Academy I began as a classroom aide, and eventually became a co-teacher in the toddler classroom (24 months-36 months) and a lead teacher for the Distance Learning classroom (for children of staff who learned through online classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic). Throughout my employment here, I worked with children aged from infancy to 1st grade.
Since becoming a nanny in 2021, I’ve worked for two families. I took care of the first family’s child for over half a year until he was enrolled in preschool. The second family primarily needed care for their youngest child, and occassional care for their eldest who was school-aged (during holidays and school breaks). I provided childcare for over a year and a half, whereupon their youngest was enrolled in preschool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy engaging in any types arts and crafts, sensory play, reading, pretend play, and getting fresh air and exercise by exploring the neighborhood and nearby child-friendly sites (library, parks, community centers, etc.)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is making sure that everyone’s needs are being met. The child(ren), the parent, and the childcare provider as well! If balance is achieved, then everything turns out ok :)
My experience with special needs children...
I have a school-aged relative who is on the autism spectrum disorder who I babysit occasionally, and while working at Cadence Academy I provided one-on-one care to a couple children who had different needs (at the time they were undiagnosed). I do not have any official training concerning the care of children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When taking a neighborhood walk, the child I was caring for mentioned the names of the plants and flowers I had spoken of on previous walks. They said it with so much certainty and glee that it made me feel so proud of the work I do.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Beaverton, OR: Michelle W.
57 years young, with 4 children and 6 grandchildren of my own, I ADORE children and truly have a gift with them. Patience is my greatest attribute, as well as teaching the little forgotten things, like the the names of plants in the forest behind our home. I have a medical background, having attended Nursing school, am CPR certified, am the daughter of a physician, and am VERY in tune to when there might be something out of the ordinary, especially in very young children. I am looking to devote my time to only ONE child, so that they receive every ounce of my attention, and preferably in my home, although I am open to discussion. I hope to meet your precious angel soon!

Part-Time Nanny Available in Beaverton, OR: Karla C.
Hi! My name is Karla and I am currently a student physical therapist. I love working with kids and one day hope to specialize in pediatrics. I have been teaching and caring for kids since I was 18 years old with family and at church in Sunday school and summer camps! My life is all about pursuing healthcare and caring for the well being of others. I love to be active during my day by going on jogs or hikes and weight lifting. Whenever it's not raining, I enjoy playing recreational volleyball and soccer. As to my creative side, I am a singer and violinist. I have been singing and playing my instrument for more than 10 years. I currently have an infant nephew and toddler niece who are my favorite people to hang out with!
