A little bit about me

I have been a Montessori Teacher at the same school for 20+ years. I am currently an administrator and am looking for a change. I have two biological children but am blessed with five in total from creating a blended family. They range from 12 to 17.

Professionally, I have taught all grades from Toddler to 8th grade. I have a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Education (with a concentration in Montessori Strategies).

I am now 46 and will not have little ones around again and I miss it so much. I feel like this is what I am supposed to do in the next chapter of my life.

I am warm, nurturing, intelligent, capable, and very calm. I understand and know how to facilitate developmental milestones in all ages. I am confident that I will be a good fit with any child.

Teaching, being a mother and an aunt, coaching basketball, track and cross country.

My husband and I also teach children that travel across town from low income housing basketball and we feed them and supply them with clothing, bicycle tune-ups, and emotional support.

My experience with special needs children...

I have taught children on the spectrum and have tutored and taught a variety of children over the years with a multitude of special needs collectively. Our eldest daughter is on the spectrum, is ADHD, and dyslexic.

My son has had four surgeries in his life, the last was open heart to correct the transposition of the great vessels.

I have worked along side my school’s Special Education program for many years, if it exists, I have seen it I think!

I also, in the beginning of my career used to watch an older child, named Joey, that was wheel chair bound and entirely non verbal.

I see children for what they need and teach and love them accordingly. I believe that, together, we can move mountains.
