The summer of 2012 I volunteered at a special need orphanage in Santa Cruz Bolivia for 2 weeks. It was one of the best experiences i could ever imagine I learned so much from it.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I feel like it’s hard to do the same activity with every child but it’s easy to build of there interest and then there more engaged in it. For example I babysat for a little boy who’s favorite characters were Mario and lightning McQueen. So I quickly decided we build a race track out of random toys and objects in the house, we timed each race and tried it a bunch of different ways backwards, on one foot, etc.
My experience with special needs children...
Other then volunteering at the special needs orphanage I’ve babysat children with feeding tubes and am comfortable doing that. I have nannied for family’s with babies born prematurely and was there early on to help with all of those things.
