More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was an Early Childhood Teacher: Infant/ Toddler/Kindergarten age group for Bright Horozons Family Solutions back in Boston. After that I was a Paraprofessional/ Teacher's Aide for the Quincy Public School System for children with special needs. Once my child was older and more independent a made a career switch to the Healthcare Industry and worked for 12 years as a Certified Medical Assistant for the major hospitals in Boston. I'Ve had started as a Lab Tech, than took a course on Nurse's Aide and later Medical Assistant.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to have fun with them. Be it, writing, painting, building, play dough or leggos, as going for a stroll in the park for fresh air, where they can run free, or going to museums (Biston have great ones!), all while respecting children's engagement and/or preferences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Children do have this magical effect on us. They are captivating! It's great to be part of their first milestones, their endless curiosity and their genuine spontaneity. Most of all, no matter how hard your day is going, they have this ability of placing a smile in your face in no time and warm your heart.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for Autistic children as well as adult children with disabilities related from accident sequels, causing brain injuries. A particular young man I cared for, had speech difficulties, was wheelchair bound and could not right due to nervous system issues. My job was to take him from the school bus and take him to all of his classrooms classes on his wheelchair and take notes of every lesson and its different subjects. Also assisted him.with tutoring and asking questions to understand his High School assignments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most.( among many) memorable moments was with a Toddler who was trying to speak and communicate with me. We sat down, side by side on the floor, against the wall and started chatting. He asked for my glasses and looked funny/ cute on it. I started to laugh and he started to laugh hard as well and saying so many things, that I could not understand, and mimicking, making gestures with his tiny hands as if he was having a real conversation. And stopped talking and laughing so hard, and back talking... It was hilarious! We were there just seating and talking and having so much fun for quite a while.
