 My name is Emilee Downs. I’m 25 years old. I spent the past two years working in medical device sales and am now preparing to return to school for nursing. While completing the necessary prerequisites, I’m seeking a full-time nanny position.

A bit about me: I graduated from Towson University. I have over 10 years of childcare experience, working with children of all ages, from preemies to teenagers. I am CPR certified (including infant CPR) and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. I have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

I genuinely love nannying because it allows me to play a meaningful, positive role in children’s lives. I take a hands-on approach, whether playing at the park, doing crafts, reading, or baking healthy treats. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing a variety of fun and engaging activities with children, such as arts and crafts, reading books together, playing outside, and using imaginative play like building forts or playing dress-up. I also enjoy simple educational games and, when allowed, baking easy treats together. My goal is always to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids can learn, explore, and express themselves.

What matters most to me about being a nanny is having a meaningful, positive impact on a child’s life. It’s not just about caring for them day to day - it’s about being someone they can trust, feel safe with, and look up to. Being a consistent, encouraging presence in their world is truly the most important and rewarding part of the job for me.

My experience with special needs children...

I had the opportunity to work with a 13-year-old child with autism from the spring through the end of summer. It was a rewarding experience that taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and flexibility. We followed a daily routine to provide structure while also introducing new activities to encourage engagement and growth. It was truly fulfilling to build a connection and support her development in a positive, encouraging environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments has been becoming part of a family's life and watching their children grow up. Three years ago, I started working with a wonderful family of five with three amazing kids. Over time, they truly felt like siblings to me, and even now, we still see each other regularly. It’s been so special to be more than just a babysitter - to be someone they trust, love, and continue to include in their lives as they grow.
