The most important part about being a nanny is… being a good role model. I love kids!! But I have to admit, selfishly I love to be able to have an impact on their lives and be a good role model to them. I always looked up to my babysitters when I was little and I think all kids should have that experience.

I was watching a 3 year old girl recently and she wasn’t very happy to be sharing any toys. I told her when she feels big feelings like that to take a deep breath and try to explain to me what she wants to do instead. She continued to do that for the rest of the night and started to share and be happy about it!! It warmed my heart that I could make that impact on her.
