A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Emily, and caring for children is truly my passion. After three years as a lead preschool teacher, I returned to my roots last year as a career nanny in search of a more intimate and flexible role. I found exactly that in a nanny share caring for two infants starting at 4 months old. I had the joy of staying with them through their first year until I welcomed my own baby girl in November. Becoming a parent has only deepened my caregiving instincts and strengthened my passion for childcare. I'm now excited to find a new position where I can continue supporting children's growth and development. My approach blends Montessori principles with play-based learning. I believe children are capable and curious, and I encourage hands-on exploration to help them learn about the world around them. It's important to me to find a position that allows for daily outings and enriching experiences-ideally one where I can bring both your child and my own along for new adventures.

My experience as a preschool teacher has helped me develop childhood social emotional coping skills, manage multiples and practice strong compassion. In my free time, I organize ski and snowboard races and competitions for kids across the state of Colorado. Watching kids exceed in their passions is so fulfilling to me.

It’s important to me to find the perfect balance between being a friend that your child can trust, and being a figure they will listen to. I truly believe that if you get on a child’s level, connect with them and make them feel understood, they will trust your judgement when it comes to guiding them through the world and having to set boundaries.

Whenever I would drop her older brother off at an after school activity, myself and the 4 y.o I was caring for, would go sit on a dock on the lake and watch all of the ducks swim by. We started to name them and whenever we saw any ducks after that, we’d go “oh! hi peanut butter!”
