A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Emily. I am 33 years old and I would love to be YOUR families Nanny! I was born and raised in Asheville, N.C. I moved to Virginia when I was a teenager with my family and besides moving away for now college for a year, to be a missionary overseas for a year and to be a live-in Nanny down in Charleston S.C for a time I have since married and made my home in a small town in southwest VA. I have worked with children in many settings including babysitter, nursery, childcare provider, camp counselor, camp supervisor, assistant Sunday school teacher and as a Full-Time Nanny. I have also had the chance to work among children with Special Needs in several of those previous settings. I grew up in a big family, I’m the 2nd oldest of 7 kids! I don’t currently have any kids of my own but growing up in a big family with so many siblings gave me a love for kids and I think family is so hugely important. I would love to work with and love on yours!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Firstly I'm the 2nd eldest of 7 kids so I got a lot of time and experience in childcare by helping raise my younger siblings.
I have also worked many years in Church Nurseries and assisted in Sunday school classes. I was the childcare coordinator at a Summer camp in New York for one summer, and another summer I was a supervisors over camp counselors so I had anywhere from 50-100 kids + 12 teenage counselors under my supervision every week.
I have had many babysitting jobs since I was 13, and I have been a live-out summer Nanny and a Live-In Summer Nanny.

What matters most is providing a safe, nurturing and fun environment for the child/children, as well as respecting and following any rules/boundaries that the child's parents may want implemented.
