A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Emily Lowe, and I am 21 years old. I am currently going into my Senior year at Florida International University. I am looking to be a part/full-time nanny to any family in need of one. I have many years of child care experience, including 2 years of nannying, 3 summers of assistant teaching at a preschool - 6th grade day camp, one summer of level-4 swimming lessons, 3 summers of kindergarten soccer coaching, and 3 years of babysitting. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have a valid driver's license. I miss being able to working with kids, so I am hoping to continue it throughout this summer and school year! I am very flexible with hours that I can work, and I am very accommodating to families wants and needs. I want to make it as easy as possible for parents to be able to leave the house and know that their child/children are in safe and loving hands.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing any activity that makes my kids excited! I found that it’s very beneficial for kids to play outside, whether that be for a walk, or going to a playground, or just playing around in the yard. I enjoy coming up with new games and crafts the kids can do as well to give them the opportunities to express their creativity. I also enjoy being able to read with them and help them engage in activities that relate to what they are learning in school. What I enjoy most is learning what each child’s interests are and being able to engage in those interests with them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, I believe working with kids is so important because at any young age, whatever influence I have on them will affect how they grow and develop. I want to be that positive influence that helps kids develop into kind, respectful, curious, and creative people. I am very good with helping children grow through discipline, consistency, and independence. I also think it is important to show them how to use their curiosity and ask questions, how to turn any situation into a learning experience, and ultimately teach them respect, integrity, and kindness. I want to show them love and comfort, and be someone that they can trust and feel safe around.
