The most important part about being a nanny is making sure children feel safe, cared for, and understood. It’s important to be patient, responsible, and attentive to their needs. Building trust and creating a positive, supportive environment helps children feel comfortable and happy.
My experience with special needs children...
I watched my 5-year-old autistic cousin and his 3-year-old sister who has ADHD. While caring for them, I learned to be patient and understanding. I helped keep my cousin calm by following routines and doing activities he liked. With his sister, I kept her active and gave simple directions to help her stay focused.
This experience taught me how to work with children who have different needs and how to be more flexible and supportive.
