Hello! I’m a 26 year old preschool teacher from San Diego. I moved to San Francisco 2 years ago and have absolutely fallen in love with this city! In my free time I like hiking, painting, going to farmers markets, hosting game nights, cooking, going to farmers markets, camping, and yoga.

For the next 3-4 years I am taking a break from teaching to focus on furthering my education in early childhood development. I am looking for a full-time nannying position with a family that I can bond with and create a lasting relationship.

I have 2+ years of prior experience as a nanny with excellent references available. I’m an energetic, compassionate, and attentive caregiver. I pride myself on my organization, cleanliness and ability to stick to a schedule.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 8 years of childcare experience with two previous long-term nannying agreements that lasted more than a year.

In June I finished my 2nd year of teaching preschool as a lead teacher with a class of 12 students aged 18mo- 5 years old.

My teaching philosophy centers around respect, patience, and relationship. I practice discipline that focuses on compassion and the intent to teach. I view challenging behavior as an opportunity to teach emotional regulation and communication while staying shame-free. In my eyes, children aren’t trying to give you a hard time, they are having a hard time. I'm very familiar with facilitating play as well as knowing when to observe a child's own self discovery.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to find activities that work to improve a child’s unique developmental skills. That includes every day reading, playing music, constantly talking to the child, taking them outdoors to a green space, involving them in social activities at their local library, and always being at their level engaging with them as they play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The relationship you foster with the child and parents. I pride myself in being a comfortable and safe person in the children’s lives that I work with. Someone they can trust to keep them safe emotionally and physically and give them grace when they make mistakes. This also means being a fun, silly, and happy presence in their lives. Someone they can feel free to explore and discover the world with through play and exposure to new activities. Ideally this builds off of the relationship and interactions the child is having with their parents! My job is to keep in constant communication with the parents and make sure I am following their lead on how they are choosing to raise their child. This ensures that the parents also feel like I am a safe, trustworthy, and beneficial addition to their family.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had 1 prior babysitting experience with an autistic 7 year old. I do not have extensive education or experience with disabled children, but am happy to learn!
