A little bit about me

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this today.

I am first aid and CPR certified and have a paraprofessional certification as well.

I've worked in summer camps, nurseries, and elementary aged before and after school programs. I have also been babysitting on and off for family members for the past four years. Currently, I am in a position as an infant/toddler teacher. Most of my experience is with ages six weeks to five years, but I am primarily looking to care for children who are not of school age (around ages 0-4).

My hobbies are writing, drawing, reading, cooking, and baking. I'm happy to provide all childcare necessities as well as a listening ear and someone who will help with housework, cooking, and more. I do not have a driver's license, but I do have reliable transportation and can Uber if necessary.

Thank you for reading! Please reach out if I sound like a good fit for you and your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

~I interned at Oakridge Elementary in Moore from February 2021-May 2021, assisting teaching 6th grade classes.
~After graduating high school and the vocational school at which I obtained my paraprofessional certificate in May 2021, I obtained my first Aid/CPR certification and went to work at the Earlywine YMCA's summer camp program where I cared for ages 5-16 until August 2021.
~In August 2021, I moved to the Earlywine YMCA's before and after school care program where I cared for a group of 5-6 year olds. I also worked at this facility's nursery caring for ages 6 weeks-7 years and activity room caring for ages 6 years-17 years. I held this position until I resigned in March 2022.
~In April 2022, I started working at Integris's summer camp where I cared for a group of children aged 4-5 until moving to Integris's Children's Place in August 2022. Here, I'm an infant/toddler teacher (ages 6 weeks-3 years). My job also regularly requires me to go help in the pre-school classrooms, 3-6.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking my kids on stroller/buggy rides through the neighborhood on nice days or playing light sports in the backyard. During the summer, water activities are a great way to stay active and cool while getting energy out, too. Additionally, reading books with kids is a favorite classic of mine. When the weather is cold and we can't go outside or even if a particular child I'm working with prefers indoor activities, assembling sensory tables and/or doing seasonal crafts is a phenomenal way to help children express themselves and improve motor skills while also creating a fun keepsake for their guardian(s)!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a confidant and trusted person for a child is by far the most important part of being a caretaker! By showing that children can trust you over time, you are sure to be able to meet all of their physical, emotional, and mental needs. The best way to do this is to consistently show up for them, making sure they know that they and their emotions are loved and valid, setting a routine, and being a reassuring presence that they know they can talk to.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not worked in a setting with exclusively special needs children, but I have had special needs children in my care and am willing to learn as much as possible to care for them and ensure that they have as much enrichment and growth as possible during my time with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My most recent memory with a child that has been my favorite was seeing one of our baby boys take his first steps! In one of our classrooms, we have a 16 month old boy that we'd been waiting on to take his first steps for FOREVER. He'd been standing and getting around well while holding onto furniture, but not walking on his own. A few weeks ago, he saw a toy and got excited enough that he walked five big steps to it all by himself after being cheered on! I remember being so happy to see such a large developmental milestone that I nearly cried as one of our toddlers (aged 2) celebrated the moment with me. Unfortunately, the baby boy has not allowed us to see him walk since then and sits down every time we think he may be about to take more steps :p
