A little bit about me

I am a stay at home mother of 5 amazing kiddos. I have homeschooled all of them from birth to college! I am also a professional American Sign Language interpreter and teacher, so I teach sign language to all children that I work with. All of my children learned to communicate through sign language by the age of 6 months old, so I do love to teach it to my little ones. I have found that it helps as an outlet for children in many ways.

I also enjoy outdoor activities such as playing in the park, exploring nature, or doing simple sports to help them stay active and healthy. Cooking simple recipes together can be another fun, educational moment. Above all, I love activities that spark their curiosity and help them grow in character and kindness.

The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children can thrive. A nanny is more than a helper; they are a role model and a steady presence in a child’s life. Kindness, dependability, and trust are essential, as well as being able to communicate clearly with both the children and their families. Ultimately, helping children feel secure and valued is the greatest gift a nanny can give.

Through my years of teaching American Sign Language and working with diverse students, I have had experience supporting children with various special needs, including those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and with learning challenges. I understand the importance of patience, adaptability, and respect for each child’s unique way of communicating and processing the world. My approach is always to celebrate their strengths while gently helping them build new skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when a child reaches a milestone—whether that’s a first word, a first sign in ASL, or conquering a fear—and their face lights up with pride. I once helped a child learn their first sign to say “I love you” to their parents, and seeing the joy on both their faces was unforgettable. Those breakthroughs fill my heart and remind me why caregiving is so meaningful.
