Hi! I'm 29 years old & married (no kids yet due to infertility). I'm caring, patient, child-focused, & strive to be a positive role model to the kids I care for. I volunteer each year with a camp for abused children and my husband & I are foster parents. I'm a fast learner & adjust to households easily. I have 5 years of experience as a full time nanny/household manager and 9 years of paid babysitting experience with many references. I use positive reinforcement techniques and encourage good manners, safety, & respecting others as well as themselves. I love engaging with kids in age-appropriate activities & seeing them grow in character. I can handle transportation; as well as pet care & cooking/cleaning. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteer as a counselor every year for "Royal Family Kids Camp" and "Teen Reach Adventure Camp" which is a fun, week long positive reinforcement camp for children in the foster care system and/or have been abused in some way.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy finding what each child loves and is good at and/or interested in and then basing the activities/playtime off of what they enjoy. For example, I had 2 boys (5 yrs & 3 yrs) who loved Paw Patrol so I made up games to where we would go on "missions" like the paw patrol team and rescue people/pets, etc... they also loved the Mario Karts game so I'd pretend that the swings were Mario & Luigi and I'd push them and get animated with it like in the game - throwing pretend banana peels, etc... and racing them. I also incorporate educational and developmental activities in the mix as much as I can - especially for the little ones still hitting their milestones. With babies, my favorite thing to do with them is making them laugh and I also love baby snuggles!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love being able to build a bond with the kids and being someone that they can trust and look up to as a role model as they grow up. I enjoy watching them as they learn and hit each milestone. I also feel an important duty to try to make the parents lives easier. Parents don't always get much personal time/space (especially with little ones) so I like to do what I can to help lighten the load. I at least get to unwind at the end of the day when I go home - parents can't always do that (unless we have a foster placement staying with us). Being a nanny has also been sort of therapeutic for myself, as my husband & I have been struggling with infertility for a few years. I enjoy being able to love on other people's children as I wait for my own.

My experience with special needs children...

I have full time experience with severe ADHD, ADD, autism, and tiny premature babies. I've worked full time with a preemie baby from the time he was 2 months old and up - helping with his physical therapy, stretches, milestones, etc... I also took care of a 2 week old preemie baby for about 8 hours each day for a week while her mom was recovering. We also fostered 2 severely autistic toddlers for 4 months from foster care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are too many to really say but I find it especially sweet when the little ones want to snuggle. I also get a good laugh from all of the stuff that kids say.
