More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've been on a childcare adventure that could rival a roller coaster ride! From my humble beginnings as a church volunteer, entertaining and watching over energetic little ones, to my time as a nanny for a precious baby who grew from a tiny 4-month-old into a sweet toddler. I even took up the challenge of being a neighborhood superhero, looking after a lively five-year-old. But my childcare escapades didn't stop there! I ventured into the world of being an au pair, where I embraced the chaos and joy of caring for kids of all ages. From helping with homework to changing diapers and everything in between, I've done it all. I even faced the ultimate challenge of not one, but two newborns! Through it all, I've honed my skills, learned to juggle multiple responsibilities, and discovered the incredible power of patience and laughter.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
INDOORS:
•Organize dance parties and everyone create a new move.
•Treasure hunts that lead to a missing teddy.
•Silly face contests.
•Story telling (puppets are a huge plus here!)
•DIY, it’s my favorite! My cardboard skills are GOOD!
•Pillows/blankets forts, that are cozy and storm proof.
•Board games are very handy on sick days, as a great option to rest the body and exercise the little minds.
OUTDOORS:
•Obstacles course, that can include hula hoops and imaginary tightropes.
•Nature Exploration, can be done in a nearby park.
•Driveway chalk art, so the little ones are able to unleash their internal Picasso.
•Picnics are an awesome way to enjoy and try new meals.
• Bike riding and water play are great options when weather allows .

The most important part about being a nanny...
Three essential qualities: patience, kindness, and responsibility.
Patience is the gentle guiding force that allows us to navigate the ups and downs of a child's world, helping them grow at their own pace. Kindness becomes our language, nurturing their hearts and fostering a sense of love and empathy. Responsibility becomes our compass, ensuring their safety, well-being, and growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most heartwarming moments occurred when I was putting a three-year-old child to bed. As we went through the nightly routine, the child began to express gratitude for the things in his day (usually his meals and toys). Amidst the heartfelt thanks, he said, "Thank you for Auntie Flavi." It was an unexpected and touching gesture that reminded me of the deep bond we had formed. The spontaneous inclusion of me in his prayers was a testament to the connection we shared and the impact I had in their life.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Chicago, IL: Margaret H.
Hello, my name is Margaret and I am moving to Chicago in July! I will be attending Roosevelt University pursuing a master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology. I have over five years of childcare experience as a nanny and babysitter, and I a year of experience working at a children’s museum. I am getting my CPR/AED/FA certification renewed shortly. I will be located in the West Loop area, and I am comfortable making a commute as long as I can use public transit to get there! I will be in class on Mondays from 2:30 to 8:00 PM and Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, otherwise I am free. I am very positive and love to have fun, but I intend on keeping a regular schedule and an organized environment for the kids. I am an experienced tutor, so I will be ready to help with homework, and I have experience in house work, cooking, and pet care, all of which I would be happy to take on. Please send me a message if you think I would be a good fit for your family!
