Hi Future Families, Caring for children has been a lifelong passion of mine. At 14, I began volunteering at a private preschool near my home for community service hours. I never imagined it would turn into a career I love so much. I started with small tasks as a teacher’s assistant, but as I grew more confident, I was promoted to the main assistant role. By 16, I was leading preschool classes, completing child development courses, and helping young minds grow with kindness and confidence. I later became a nanny for some of the children I taught, forming lasting relationships with their families. For the past year, I’ve been an au pair for a wonderful family with a 6-month-old and a 3-year-old, but as our time together comes to an end, I’m excited to continue doing what I love, providing a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for children. For the past year, I’ve been a full-time au pair for a wonderful family with a 6-month-old and a 3-year-old. My role goes beyond childcare—I actively support the household by cooking nutritious meals, keeping the home clean and organized, and most importantly, nurturing the children’s growth and development with patience and care. This hands-on experience has deepened my ability to balance both caregiving and household responsibilities, creating a warm, structured, and loving environment. This is in addition to my previous experience managing preschool classrooms of up to 30 students, giving me a strong foundation in childcare at every stage.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in fun and enriching activities that encourage creativity and movement. I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for walks, exploring nature, or playing outside. I also love painting and finding creative ways for kids to express themselves through art. Dancing is another favorite activity—I believe it’s a great way for children to build confidence and have fun! Storytime is especially important to me, as it sparks imagination and creates meaningful moments for learning and connection.

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children feel loved, understood, and encouraged to grow. Building trust with both the child and the family is essential, as it allows me to provide consistent care that supports the child’s emotional, physical, and developmental needs. It’s about being patient, compassionate, and adaptable—guiding children through their milestones while fostering their creativity, confidence, and independence. I believe that forming genuine connections and becoming a positive, reliable presence in a child’s life is what makes this role truly meaningful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was the first time the little girl I care for told me she loved me. We had spent the afternoon painting outside, laughing and making a mess with colors everywhere. After cleaning up, we sat down for storytime, and as I was reading to her, she snuggled up next to me and softly said, “I love you.” It completely melted my heart. In that moment, I knew I had built a safe and loving space for her, and it reminded me why I’m so passionate about what I do. Moments like that make this job so special to me.
