A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Gabby, and I'm someone who truly loves spending time with kids and helping them learn, grow, and have fun.

I have direct experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I supported children with ASD and other developmental needs! I'm happy to use those skills if they're ever helpful for your family. :)

I am 22 years old, a nonsmoker, hold a valid driver's license, pediatric CPR/First Aid certified and I have reliable transportation to any areas in or around Sarasota/Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch! I also passed a level II background screening as an RBT to be administered school clearance.

I am seeking to be full-time or part-time (3-4 days) nanny.
I am willing to pick up or drive your kiddos anywhere too.

I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I'd love the opportunity to be that person for your family! <33

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When I worked as an RBT, my experience working with children has helped me create fun, safe, and supportive environments.

I helped kids on the spectrum learn essential social skills (turn taking, appropriate communication), academic skills (reading, math), and daily living skills (potty training, teeth brushing, etc.).

I am comfortable and open to learning how to do any specific duties for children <1 year of age, since that is one age range I have not worked directly with.

Every kid I've worked with has had their own personality and learning style, so I valued having them lead the way, showing patience and building trust!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love finding activities that match each child's interests. My favorites are whatever makes them the happiest! This can include arts and crafts, imaginative play, board games, building with Legos, reading books, baking simple treats together, going to the park, playing outside, scavenger hunts, and helping with homework.

I can adapt to different activities based on the age of the child and what they enjoy!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is prioritizing communication and trust with parents, being dependable, attentive, and someone families can count on.

Regarding the kids, a nanny should build a relationship where the kiddos feel safe, understood, and excited to spend time with them!

My experience with special needs children...

As an RBT, I worked one-on-one with verbal and non-verbal children across a range of support needs on the autism spectrum, as well as children with other developmental disabilities!

I implemented individualized behavior plans under BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) supervision using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) strategies to support communication, social, play, daily living, and academic skills.

I have experience with AAC devices, basic ASL, visual supports, prompting, reinforcement strategies, data collection, and behavior reduction techniques. I was also trained in response blocking and de-escalation to safely support children during challenging moments while maintaining a calm and supportive environment. <3

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite parts of working with kiddos is connecting with them and doing pretend play games or dress-up!

I was at an ABA clinic with a 9 year old client on the spectrum, and my favorite memory with him was when he pretended he was a wizard while wearing an huge goofy wizard hat. He had a wand and turned me into different animals (frog, bunny, cat, etc.), where I would act as the animal or I would change him into one too.

It was super silly...but it's one of the best memories out of many experiences since I remember how hard he laughed. :))
