More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve had the privilege of caring for children in both educational and healthcare settings. Since becoming a certified Montessori teacher in 2017, I’ve worked closely with children of different ages, creating hands-on learning environments that encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence. This experience gave me a deep understanding of child development and the importance of meeting each child at their own pace.
In addition, my work as a nursing assistant has given me valuable skills in providing attentive, compassionate care, always focusing on safety, well-being, and emotional support. In both roles, I’ve learned how to balance structure with warmth, whether it’s guiding a classroom activity, helping with daily routines, or offering comfort when a child needs extra reassurance.
Together, these experiences have made me confident in my ability to support children not only in their learning but also in their everyday care and overall development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy anything that lets kids use their imagination and have fun. I love reading stories with them, especially when I can make the characters come to life with silly voices. Arts and crafts are always a favorite too, whether it’s painting, coloring, or just creating something out of paper and glue.
I also like to get outside as much as possible: going to the park, playing games, or even just exploring in the backyard. Fresh air always seems to bring out the best in kids. And when we’re indoors, I’m all about dance parties, building forts, or trying out simple baking projects together.
Mostly, I enjoy tuning into what each child loves to do and finding ways to make those activities both fun and meaningful. For me, the best part is seeing kids light up when they’re proud of something they’ve done.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part about being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe, loving environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. Kids thrive when they know they’re cared for, listened to, respected and seen as valuable and important to conversations and decisions making. I see my role as not just looking after them, but also supporting their growth and helping them feel confident.
It’s about being dependable for the parents too, so they can feel at ease knowing their child is in good hands. At the heart of it, being a nanny is about connection, patience, and showing up every day with genuine care.

My experience with special needs children...

During my clinical rotation at Matheny Specialized Hospital, I had the opportunity to be a companion for children with special needs. That experience really shaped the way I approach care, it taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of celebrating even the smallest milestones. I learned how meaningful it is to slow down, listen, and meet each child where they are, whether that meant engaging in sensory activities, offering encouragement, or simply being a calm and supportive presence.
What stood out the most to me was how much joy and personality each child brought to the day, and how building trust and consistency made such a difference in their comfort. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the resilience of children and reminded me that care is not just about meeting physical needs, but also about creating connection and dignity in every interaction.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when Cass, a child I was caring for finally mastered something she had been struggling with for weeks: tying her own shoes. We had been practicing together every day, and the look of pride on their face when she got it on their own was priceless. She immediately wanted to show everyone in the house, and we turned it into a little celebration.
For me, moments like that: when a child feels confident, independent, and so proud of themselves, are the most rewarding part of being a nanny. It reminds me why I love this work so much.
