A little bit about me

Hi my name is Gentri, a 21-year-old college student, and I love children! I have babysat since the age of 14 and have consistently had jobs that revolve around children. When I was 17, for a Summer, I worked at Impact Ninja Gym (basically American Ninja Warrior for kids) and helped plan parties/events, and the best part- coaching the kids on all the equipment! I most recently worked for a preschool, where I would watch up to 7 children at a time. I have experience with newborns, babies, toddlers, and children. I would also participate in children's parties and events after school and help guide multiple field trips! It was a lot of fun but I had to focus on doing an internship for my major, but now want to get back into childcare! I have first aid and CPR training, a background check, and attended Utah's annual Children's Conference. I study Sociology and am applying for a Master's of Social work to be a child therapist one day! Overall I am very energetic and eager to begin!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I most recently worked for a preschool, where I would watch up to 7 children at a time. I have experience with newborns, babies, toddlers, and children. It was a lot of fun until I hurt my knee, but I am doing much better and certainly miss being with children. I have first aid and CPR training, a background check, and attended Utah's annual Children's Conference. I am fully vaccinated a going to get my flu shot soon!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I do a lot of dance parties, both the kids and I usually have a lot of energy! We do the floor is lava (on the ground), just dance from youtube (depending on age), and lots of active games. After that we can do chill things like arts and crafts, but I also have a huge stock of toys I like to bring over for us to play with. Then usually end the day with a nice movie or books are always great!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure that the kids are having a well balanced time. A time of fun, high energy, laughter, but also rest and moments of calm as well as safety!

My experience with special needs children...

In the preschool I worked at we had a lot of kids with different behaviors from autism to ADHD. So I have experience with this wide spectrum of children and recognize different needs, that must be met.

The most important part about being a nanny...

At the preschool I was trying to get the cutest little two year old down for a nap. And he kept peeking out at me from below his blanket and then hiding and giving me the cutest smirk. It was the most adorable thing ever!
