More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Hello! My name is Grace Arndt, and I have a deep passion for working with children and supporting their growth, development, and happiness. I’ve been caring for kids since I was 12 years old, beginning as a babysitter and later working as a nanny for multiple families. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents through reliable, compassionate, and attentive care.
I’ve worked as a tennis instructor for children ages 6 to 13, which has given me experience in guiding kids through learning new skills in a fun and supportive environment. I also served as a counselor at Camp Friendship, where I worked with individuals of all ages who face a wide range of mental and physical challenges.
Working with children is not just a job for me—it’s a calling. I take pride in fostering their creativity, independence, and confidence while ensuring they feel safe, supported, and heard.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Creative Arts & Crafts- Encouraging self-expression through drawing, painting, seasonal crafts, and DIY projects.
Reading Time- Sharing books that match their interests and reading levels, fostering early literacy and imagination.
Outdoor Play & Nature- Promoting physical activity and curiosity through games at the park, scavenger hunts, and exploring nature.
Educational Games & Learning Activities- Helping with homework or creating fun learning experiences involving math, science, and language.
Music & Movement- Singing songs, dancing, or playing simple instruments to build rhythm, coordination, and joy.
Structured Play- Engaging in building blocks, puzzles, and imaginative role-play that support cognitive and social development.
Cooking & Baking Together- Age-appropriate kitchen fun that teaches responsibility, following directions, and healthy habits.
Calm Time- Leading quiet activities like storytime, breathing exercises, or drawing to help children wind down and self-regulate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children feel valued, heard, and encouraged to grow into confident, kind individuals. It’s not just about supervision—it’s about being a consistent, caring presence who helps guide their emotional, social, and developmental journey. Building trust with both the child and the family is at the heart of everything I do.

My experience with special needs children...

I have hands-on experience working with children and individuals of all ages who have a variety of mental and physical challenges. As a counselor at Camp Friendship, I supported campers with diverse needs—including autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and physical disabilities—helping them participate in daily activities, build confidence, and feel included. This role taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and clear communication. I’m comfortable providing one-on-one support, managing routines, and using positive behavior strategies to ensure each child feels safe, understood, and empowered.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was helping a shy 5-year-old I cared for build the confidence to ride her bike without training wheels. We practiced a little each day, and I encouraged her with patience and positivity. The moment she finally took off on her own—smiling ear to ear and yelling, “I did it!”—was so rewarding. Seeing her pride and knowing I played a part in helping her believe in herself is something I’ll never forget. Moments like that remind me why I love working with children so much.
