A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Grace! I am a Ball State student, graduating in December with a general studies degree with an emphasis on Family and Child: Early Care Concentration. I have experience working with children ages 6 weeks and up. I have been babysitting for eight years, I’ve worked at a preschool as both a lead and assistant teacher, I’ve worked at an in-home daycare, a daycare center, taught Sunday school at my church, and coached various tumbling classes for ages 2-18. I also went into a daycare in Muncie for two semesters of college for lab. I am CPR certified, I’ve been fingerprinted, and completed some training modules in order to work the jobs and labs that I have had. I am looking for a full time babysitting or nannying job. I do own a car and am willing to drive children to get out of the house for activities or errands. I enjoy arts and crafts and being outside and would love to incorporate those kinds of things into our days.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been both a lead and assistant preschool teacher, a babysitter for several families of different ages for eight years, I’ve worked at a daycare center and an in-home daycare, I’ve coached several tumbling classes for children ages 2 to 18, and I’ve taught Sunday school classes at my church! I also was a lab student at the Mitchell Early Learning Center in Muncie for school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting out of the house, so if that’s something you’re comfortable with, I would definitely plan some fun activities and outings! This might look like going to a park or library, or taking a walk! I also enjoy arts and crafts, so depending on the age of the child, we might make some cool things! Because I have most of my college credits in family and child, I took a lot of child development classes, so I know how to plan activities according to the child’s age.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have a lot of experience with children with special needs, but I have worked with a few children with autism, and I am willing to learn how to work with children with other special needs. While my experience is limited, I did take a few classes in college that taught me how to work with children with special needs.
