I think the most important part about being a nanny, or really any job involving children, is to develop a positive, trusting relationship with the family. The kids need to feel safe and loved and respected. The parents need to know that a nanny's intentions are good and that they will be there, not only as a monitor, but also as a source of comfort and compassion to their children.

I think my favorite moment was surprising the children I used to nanny. Their parents were going out of town and they needed an overnight sitter. They did not tell the kids it would be me, and seeing their reaction was priceless and heartwarming. I miss them.

We are two 13 year olds, one boy one girl. We are both homeschooled therefore we have super flexible schedules. I (Julianne) took the red cross babysitting course, which went over first aid and CPR, I also had additional CPR training in my HOPE class. Asher has taken a CPR class as well.
