More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For about 5 years I worked at Raising Expectations which specialises in the development of children throughout the K-12 system

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

What I do with children really depends on their age groups. For example with my toddlers I like to focus on DIY and Creative arts (sensory activities). For my older babies I like to focus on games and puzzles, storytelling, music and movement, etc..

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel like this question is very important especially considering that I am a young person in this field but I'd say the most important part about being a nanny is growth, community, and being the example. I say this because I believe that a lot of nannies, childcare workers, and teachers are the backbone of our communities. I know and have been there to witness what goes on when there are struggling parents without any support, or community to provide assistance so that they can be better and stronger as a unit. I know I have not done this long but It warms my heart knowing that just by doing this I am helping out a family. When there is help involved not only is the child able to grow but you also see the parents grow because they know a little bit of the burdens placed on them has been lifted and they can fill that space with something that's going to cater to the development of their household.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much experience with special needs children my apologies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favourite "nanny moment" would be when I got the sweetest 5 year old to say "salt". I know it doesn't seem like much but she was one of my none verbal babies. She was very sweet and gentle and worked so hard on her speech. Therefore when we were practicing and she whispered it to me I basically balled my eyes out.
