Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
For 5 years I watched my neighbors kids, friends and families kids, ages range from newborn to 12 years old. My nieces and nephews absolutely adore me. I also worked part time as a care giving in an assisted living for 2 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Dance parties, singing, coloring, learning, playing dress up, reading and my favorite of them all movie nights! Popcorn, candy, their favorite movie big blankets, forts etc!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids know that I am just someone looking out for them and taking care of them while their mommies and daddies work hard for a good future for them. I've seen many kids mistake their nanny for their parent or vice versa.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have much experience with special needs children but my nephew is special needs, non verbal and I will say it isn't easy not knowing what he wants but I've learned quickly.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Bed time snuggles and stories is my favorite nanny moment, it warms my heart watching them be excited but yet so sleepy after a long day of play and learning!
