A little bit about me

Here is a little information about myself and my experience in childcare. I’m 31 years old and I relocated to Spokane from Richland, WA with my two little dogs to be closer to family about 6 years ago. I have 10 years of experience working in childcare through previous nanny jobs, working in the infant room at KinderCare, and through working as a preschool teacher at Children's Garden Montessori school. I have cared for children of all ages ranging from infant to pre teen through my previous jobs.

I just received my nurse aid certificate this last summer and I have stayed up to date on my children’s first aid and CPR as well. I was working as a full time nanny until March of 2020. Right now, I’m working a few nights a week as a CNA in a group home setting. So a part time nanny job and occasional babysitting works perfectly with my current availability. I hope you will consider me for your position. Thank you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’m currently a certified nursing assistant and I have worked with young teens who have physical and cognitive delays. I have also worked as a preschool teacher at a Montessori school for a couple for years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

A great way to keep kids engaged and having fun is with crafts and outdoor play. Puzzles and sensory toys and activities can be another great way to keep kids engaged and entertained. Imaginary play can be very fun with preschool age kiddos as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is knowing that you are the one is there to keep those kids safe happy and healthy while their parents are away. You are the one that the parents had enough trust to leave their most important little people in the world to them safe while they needed to be away. So the safety and wellbeing of the kids is absolutely the most important part of being a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience babysitting a little boy with autism and through a couple children who had special needs at the Montessori school I worked at over the years I worked there. I would say the most special needs experience I have though, is through the group home that I worked at as a caregiver with teen with different cognitive and physical disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This is a hard one. I have worked with many families over the last 10+ years in childcare and I don’t think I can pick just one favorite moment. Every family/child I have worked I have had a special and unique memory with. I have so many “favorite moments” with each of the families I’ve worked with, I can’t pick one.
